2009: Through Our Eyes

2009?

Man, it was one hell of a year.

2009 saw us leaving residencies for good and took the brand to a whole new level. We broke a whole lotta beer mugs, partied with the best of friends, made new enemies, companions and partnerships, loves lost and found, touring Jakarta successfully in July and Hong Kong in December and finally, we found a new home in Cloth and Clef. 2009 has definitely been kind to us.

DANGERDISKO would like to thank everyone who has been a part of the experience. Friends abroad who has been more than welcoming, providing us great friendship and literally taking care of us when we're touring, supportive friends in KL who have been there through our shittiest of shows and still remain in the front row. We salute you. We dedicate 2009 to all of you.

Let's not get all mellow now, 2010 is just around the corner. We've got a whole lotta plans lined up for 2010, so keep yourself posted. Make sure you drag your asses to Cloth and Clef this 31st and experience a new year's celebration like no other! Its DANGERDISKO VS STORMTROOPERS in an all out battle royale!

So what are you waiting for folks? Lets say goodbye to 2009 the old fashioned way: by getting drunk and partying like there's no tommorow! See you there!

CTRL+ALT+DELETE!

Last night was DANGERDISKO's final ELECTRIC PLAYGROUND night: CTRL+ALT+DELETE!. In conjunction with Labor's Day Eve celebration, DANGERDISKO tore the roof off Heritage Mansion for one last time with support from the ever fabulous ND LEE and DJ HARITH. Heritage Mansion, first established in 2007, will close it's doors for renovation and hopefully rebrand itself into a new club. The Heritage Mansion opened their hearts and venue to DANGERDISKO on November 2008 and thus, the ever popular ELECTRIC PLAYGROUND was born.

Here's some lovely photogs of the night!

As if time were on our side, the timing couldn't have been any better. DANGERDISKO would like to take this time out to take a step back, take a breather and concentrate on the making of their debut EP. This past year of TOTAL NON STOP PARTYING has taken a toll on us, but those are memories which we will never forget. Those were some crazy wild nights. We are currently remixing some hot local artistes tracks, a feat we never thought could be possible. Stay tuned and keep yourself updated.

DANGERDISKO would like to thank everyone who came and supported our shows! Keep yourself updated on our blog and our Facebook group to keep track of our next upcoming shows!

DANGERDISKO's Summer Female All Stars

Ola DANGERDISKOTEERS!

Over here at DANGERDISKO, we are suckers for female vocals ridden music. Let it be fancy scmhancy art pop to earbleeding electro, we just can't help but nod our heads in sync whenever a sexy female vocal comes on. So for your listening pleasure, DANGERDISKO has compiled a playlist for your summer pleasure by artistes we have robo wet dreams of.

First up is the ever fabulous Little Boots. Born Victoria Hesketh in 1984, this electro pop princess sings and produces her own tracks. Looking at her photos holding a MicroKORG synth and vocoder in her undies is already porn to our eyes. She is in the midst of releasing a US exclusive EP coming out on June 9, entitled 'ILLUMINATIONS'. The 5-track EP, includes the US exclusive 'Not Now' plus the 'New In Town' music video directed by Jake Nava and a digital booklet with exclusive new artwork! So for your listening pleasure, here is the Alexander Robotnick rendition of the ever popular 'Stuck On Repeat'.

Little Boots - Stuck On Repeat (Alexander Robotnick Remix)

Next is Swedish indie pop princess, Lykke Li. Born Li Lykke Timotej Zacharrison in 1986, she was raised by artistic parents; a painter mother and a musician father, so the course of her music is inevitably trippy. She has released her first album, Youth Novels on LL Recordings on February 4th 2008 and the album was produced by Björn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John Lasse Mårtén. It was later released in the United States on 6 May 2008. Listen to the Villains remix of her single 'Little Bit' and try not to get a boner. Literally. I mean IT!

Lykke Li - Little Bit (Villains Remix)

This is a DESIGNER DRUGS rendition of Annie's latest track 'Antonio'. It’s an awesome remix that brings a little “Two of Hearts” to the song with a some good electro flare. Welcome to the new age! Love what everyone’s being doing with remixes lately with the retro sound coming back stronger than ever, disco and electro are the best combination. Take off your pants and have an underwear party to this track!

Annie - Antonio (Designer Drugs Remix)

As far as new artistes come and go, this one is here to stay. Ellie Goulding is ready to sing her lungs out, has Frankmusik protégé Starsmith on the production and is DISCODUST's secret favorite for the 'best newcomer of 2009' crown

Not too sugary sweet or too trendy or too 80's, just damn right!
She has everyone at DANGERDISKO bopping their heads to her art pop drivel. Definitely not a club banger, but 'Guns and Horses' is a track that's gonna be in my car for a longg time!

Ellie Goulding - Guns and Horses

Well there you go DANGERDISKOTEERS! Stay tuned for more updates from DANGERDISKO!

This is why DAFT PUNK are GODS

Hey DANGERDISKOTEERS,

Here are two perfect reasons why DAFT PUNK; DANGERDISKO's ultimate idols, are Gods in our eyes.

This is a trailer of a full length feature film: Daft Punk's Electroma The plot revolves around the quest of two robots (the band members, played by Peter Hurteau and Michael Reich) to become human. The music featured in this film is surprisingly not by Daft Punk. This is a first for the duo considering their previous film and home video releases, D.A.F.T. and Interstella 5555. .

This is a video for the radio edit of Harder Better Faster Stronger to promote the Alive 2007 album. It's made up of footage from various sources; mostly from the Coachellla forums. It is way better than the original video. I fucking shed tears during 3.15-3.20. Only one word to describe it: EPIC.

So as a present for all of you DANGERDISKOTEERS, here is DAFT PUNK The Game. This is a fantastic game for all you Ed Banger freaks out there. Justice has stolen Daft Punk's (you) samples. And Daft Punk(you again) have to get them back by collecting them and points and killing obnoxious fans. When you combo it does the lyrics of harder better - and when die - it says "Over."

CLICK HERE TO PLAY THE GAME!

In other words its freakin awesome guys -have fun!

February and the NEON Lovemachine

Hello DANGERDISKOTEERS!

If blogging were a religion then I'm going straight into hell. I haven't been blogging for a while now. Never had the time to spare with all our latest residencies and shit. Swamped. Yes, I know. I suck. Plus, I have been diagnosed with kidney stones. Yes! Believe it or not! DJing can be a dangerous job.. Well, anyways, here are the latest updates on DANGERDISKO fellow DANGERDISKOTEERS!

The last ELECTRIC PLAYGROUND was a such a blast, it was the first time the NEON collective sat down collectively (aha!) and created beautiful nosebleeding music together. For those who may or may not know what in the world is NEON: NEON stands for NEO-Nightlife, a collective of DJs and producers from all over Kuala Lumpur that shares a strong drive and the same clear vision, NEON is a medium in which these artists can share their influences and present their productions. Phew! That was mouthful! The artists involved in the collective are currently DANGERDISKO, DJ Andy Lee and DJ Fizzy at the moment.

Cool ain't it?

This Thursday, put on your dancing shoes and wiggle your way to Heritage Mansion for ELECTRIC PLAYGROUND presents NEON NIGHTS. This time around, the NEON collective (comprising of DANGERDISKO, DJ Andy Lee and DJ Fizzy) will burn the house down with enough electro to make your ears bleed.

So, c'mon down this Thursday and partay your asses off!

HELLO 2009!

Happy New Year DANGERDISKOTEERS!

New Year's Eve 2009 was a BLAST! Hand's down the craziest party ever! We told you bitches we would rock the house down! DANGERDISKO tore the roof off of Frangipani and everyone had an awesome time. Luscious ladies and handsome hunks were dancing the night away, drowning in a sea of cocktails and champagne. DJ SITO (Spain) took over at 1.30am and got the party goin on all night long. Woohoo! Big up to everyone who rocked Frangipani up!

Here's some photogs!

(photos courtesy of Sally XO)

Well, I'd post more photos but blogspot's quite fucked at the moment. I'll post more once the server's all better.

Anyways, to get things going, DANGERDISKO will kick start the new year with a bang. 15th January will be the date of our all new monthly series: ELECTRIC PLAYGROUND. Yes, you've got it right, it will be jam packed with nosebleed electro enough to make your heart stop! Email us to get your reservations as it will be packed with electro lovers (hopefully).

But that's not all folks. There's even talks of a new RUNWAY THUNDER somewhere along this month. Hooray! So stay tuned for more updates, peeps!

Peace Out
