Whats cooking, Dangerdrones?

We just came back from a rather disappointing Jakarta tour due to lack of professionalism from our "trusted" agent; the asshole agent over there totally screwed us over. Mismanagements, pfft. (Note to self; Never trust a man who has the ability of eating three ecstasy pills at once) But nonetheless, we had a pretty amazing 8 days there. Beautiful people, delicious food, good music. All the elements that we needed before the preparations for a crazy month up ahead. Bass Punks shows, a New Wave/Italo Disco appreciation night, Christmas and NYE 2011!

We'll be going back into the studios again, to finally release our first single off of Bass Punks Debut Compilation CD which is scheduled to print by next month. Releasing alongside label greats from all over the region such as VNRP and H3 from We Are Mutants, Concept and RESISTIV3 (Anowl, STNGMK, Al Zi Nizi and more).

We're also would be releasing our line of limited edition merch via Bass Punks official clothing line: REVOLTA. More on that on the next update!

MUTANT MAYHEM: ZOMBIE PROM NIGHT 2010

Hello DANGERDISKOTEERS!

Its been awhile since we last posted anything, we've been a bunch of lazy bums. Its kinda hard juggling work with the record label and actually having a proper life. But no worries, we are extremely sorry, but we do promise to update you from time to time.

As you may or may not know, last weekend was absolutely KERAYYYZAAHHH. MUTANT MAYHEM: ZOMBIE PROM NIGHT was hands down the best Halloween party Kuala Lumpur had to offer. It saw crazy collaborations from the Bass Punks crew: We are Mutants and DANGERDISKO, with support from Alex Anthony, Dizkopolis and Singapore's finest, The Donn.

The night was jam packed to the brim. It got grimey, smelly, and downright NASTY.. in a good way of course. We'll update this post with more photogs once we get our hands on em!

BASS PUNKS presents EYE KANDY 3D featuring ANGGER DIMAS

If Nasi Goreng, the mash up of rice, egg and vegetables is Indonesia’s nation food dish then DJ and producer Angger Dimas represents Indonesia’s national music dish with his mash up of chopped beats and pumping synths that are topped off with some Dutch inspired spicy sounds!

Hailing from Jakarta 22 year old Angger has been playing guitar since the age of 7 and began his journey into dance music after launching his DJ career just 3 short years ago. Signed to Australia’s mighty Vicious Recordings in early 2009 Angger has spent the rest of the year tuning his craft and making quite an impact in the process! His debut release “Duck Army” was played by the likes of Tocadisco, Joachim Garraud and Laidback Luke, just to name a few - it’s tuff, bleepy, but still jacking sound showcasing the Angger Dimas production and DJ sound. Following this release he teamed up with Vandalism and enjoyed massive international support on his collaboration release “She Got It”. Added to the Australian 2010 Ministry Of Sound Annual CD, this track was also dropped by Sebastien Ingrosso as his opening track at the famed “Sensation” event on New Years Eve in Melbourne & regularly features in the playlists of David Guetta, Chuckie, Armand Van Helden, Laidback Luke and even Axwell.

Angger’s most recent remix “I Like That” by Richard Vission & Static Revenger went Top20 in the UK’s Cool Cuts Club Chart and continued his tradition of turning out pumping remixes for the likes of Ian Carey (3BEAT UK), Oliver Twizt (Spinnin, Netherlands), Kaskade (Ultra, US), Mind Electric (Vicious), Freemasons (LOADED UK), Javi Mula (BLANCO Y NEGRO, Spain), Tommie Sunshine (ULTRA US) and Sgt Slick (Vicious).
Angger’s “Fight Club” was smashed internationally by dj’s all over the world, paving the way for his new single “Plastik” released through Vicious in early 2010. Angger hit Australia & New Zealand in February 2010 on DJ tour with Avicii (Sweden) after constantly rocking the best parties & clubs in Indonesia for the past 3 years. His pumping performances were received with rave reviews and gave him the opportunity to road test forthcoming collaborations with ARIA Nominated DJ/producer Tommy Trash, Ministry Of Sound’s Neon Stereo and stable mate Vandalism.

Farewell Cloth and Clef

Cloth and Clef.

It used to be the only place where DJs weren't forced to play Akon's latest single. It used to be the only place where you could blast Fantastadon and the owner would say "Dude, kasi hantam lagiiiii!". It was the only place where you could party your knickers off, and people around you wouldn't care less, cos they're too busy getting wasted themselves and enjoying the night. It's small. It's loud. It's definitely hot. But all and all, it was the best place around.

It was truly a place to be.

And for short while, it was OUR home.

And now, we bid farewell to Cloth and Clef's gracious wooden floors for it has hosted some of the best and wildest electroklash parties Kuala Lumpur has ever known. The venue singlehandedly jumpstarted the whole electroklash scene and now, I see it blossoming at a rapid pace. And it all started here.

DANGERDISKO would love to express our heartflet gratitude to Ethaya, the friendly owner whom has given all of us a chance to party like there is no tomorrow. We can't wait for the new joint to pop out.

So I guess, until then, we're homeless, I guess?

Hello DANGERDISKOTEERS!

I know, I know. We've been lazy bums this past month, with the lack of visual updates on the blog. The reason why we were slow in uploading the photos and videos of the Hong Kong Tour is because Valerie (RIP); Robotron 5000's trusty companion/ laptop, crashed in the middle of December. Hence all videos and photos of the trip were at risk of being totally destroyed. But thanks to the brilliant efforts made by his beloved IT specialist Mr.Raqif, DANGERDISKO has finally been able to upload them on FB and such.

The Hong Kong trip was a total blast. this time around DANGERDISKO got full on support from BADGER MALAYSIA. But lack of time (we had only 4 days), money (RM600 is surprisingly NOT enough) and ability to speak in Cantonese made the trip a drag. Being lost in the humongous city was not unusual, as DANGERDISKO found themselves struggling to go from one train to another. Not to mention the extraordinarily high prices ($30 for a coke? c'mon!). But all in all, the trip was super awesome. Lan Kwai Fong road might be the best clubbing district we've ever encountered and the crowd there are simply spectacular. A definite experience for us. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!

The atmosphere was filled with excitement as DANGERDISKO and STORMTROOPERS took over the decks on New Year's eve. Cloth and Clef was filled with party animals to the brim and we had an awesome rockin farewell to the year 2009. The night, was a total success, albeit the fact that Bloody Beetroots were playing at KL Live Centre (most of the usual crowd were split in two), but the night was rockin, nonetheless.

DANGERDISKO would love to thank everyone who came and supported us on the HONG KONG TOUR (Photos will be uploaded soon) and NYE. 2009 wouldnt have been awesome without you. Much love.

2009: Through Our Eyes

Man, it was one hell of a year.

2009 saw us leaving residencies for good and took the brand to a whole new level. We broke a whole lotta beer mugs, partied with the best of friends, made new enemies, companions and partnerships, loves lost and found, touring Jakarta successfully in July and Hong Kong in December and finally, we found a new home in Cloth and Clef. 2009 has definitely been kind to us.

DANGERDISKO would like to thank everyone who has been a part of the experience. Friends abroad who has been more than welcoming, providing us great friendship and literally taking care of us when we're touring, supportive friends in KL who have been there through our shittiest of shows and still remain in the front row. We salute you. We dedicate 2009 to all of you.

Let's not get all mellow now, 2010 is just around the corner. We've got a whole lotta plans lined up for 2010, so keep yourself posted. So it's our biggest pleasure to inform you animals that DANGERDISKO has teamed up with Nazkimo, KL's biggest underground electroklash hero to create a brand spanking new series of nights at Cloth and Clef called THE DUKES OF CASIO.

That's rigghttttt kidsss!

The once in a month event will be done one Saturday of every month. And for October, we're locked down the 31st of October for the coolest Halloween party KL is about to encounter: THE DUKES OF CASIO presents THRILLA NIGHT! What's up DANGERDISKOTEERS!

It's been a long time since we last rocked the decks and partied with you animals. DANGERDISKO is proud to inform you that we have succeeded with our very first tour in Jakarta, Indonesia, and we rocked the concrete jungle HARD. The robots landed in the city where everything was possible on the 13th of August and came back home on the 17th. And believe everything they say about Jakarta. It's true. The people were gorgeous. The food was delicious. And the nightlife was stellar. 5 days of rocking Jakarta was just not enough! Big up to those who came and supported our shows there. Not forgetting our DANGERDISKOTEERS from Jakarta, whom helped made the awesome trip there unforgettable.

We'll post the pictures as more photogs arrive in our inbox.For now, check out the video journal!

Last night was DANGERDISKO's final ELECTRIC PLAYGROUND night: CTRL+ALT+DELETE!. In conjunction with Labor's Day Eve celebration, DANGERDISKO tore the roof off Heritage Mansion for one last time with support from the ever fabulous ND LEE and DJ HARITH. Heritage Mansion, first established in 2007, will close it's doors for renovation and hopefully rebrand itself into a new club. The Heritage Mansion opened their hearts and venue to DANGERDISKO on November 2008 and thus, the ever popular ELECTRIC PLAYGROUND was born.

As if time were on our side, the timing couldn't have been any better. DANGERDISKO would like to take this time out to take a step back, take a breather and concentrate on the making of their debut EP. This past year of TOTAL NON STOP PARTYING has taken a toll on us, but those are memories which we will never forget. Those were some crazy wild nights. We are currently remixing some hot local artistes tracks, a feat we never thought could be possible. Stay tuned and keep yourself updated.

Over here at DANGERDISKO, we are suckers for female vocals ridden music. Let it be fancy scmhancy art pop to earbleeding electro, we just can't help but nod our heads in sync whenever a sexy female vocal comes on. So for your listening pleasure, DANGERDISKO has compiled a playlist for your summer pleasure by artistes we have robo wet dreams of.

First up is the ever fabulous Little Boots. Born Victoria Hesketh in 1984, this electro pop princess sings and produces her own tracks. Looking at her photos holding a MicroKORG synth and vocoder in her undies is already porn to our eyes. She is in the midst of releasing a US exclusive EP coming out on June 9, entitled 'ILLUMINATIONS'. The 5-track EP, includes the US exclusive 'Not Now' plus the 'New In Town' music video directed by Jake Nava and a digital booklet with exclusive new artwork! So for your listening pleasure, here is the Alexander Robotnick rendition of the ever popular 'Stuck On Repeat'.

Next is Swedish indie pop princess, Lykke Li. Born Li Lykke Timotej Zacharrison in 1986, she was raised by artistic parents; a painter mother and a musician father, so the course of her music is inevitably trippy. She has released her first album, Youth Novels on LL Recordings on February 4th 2008 and the album was produced by Björn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John Lasse Mårtén. It was later released in the United States on 6 May 2008. Listen to the Villains remix of her single 'Little Bit' and try not to get a boner. Literally. I mean IT!

As the title obviously states, here's some of the photos of our ELECTRIC PLAYGROUND nights at The Heritage Mansion, Kuala Lumpur. It has been a fantastic few months for DANGERDISKO with back to back shows such as the RUNWAY THUNDER series, the NEON Nights series and our special electro weekends. These past few months in Heritage Mansion has been a total blast, if not progressive, as DANGERDISKO spreads their wings by collaborating with numerous acts on their nights such as: ND LEE, DJ FEIZ, MARIO MUSHROOM, DJ SAINTZ, GARRY TEE, DJ DOMINGO from Peru, MR.Q, EDDIE ELECTRIC, DJ TIM COATES from London and most recently, the JETSEVEN GODDESS DJs (TIARA EVE, DELIZIOUS DEVINA and DJ JESSICA) from Dejavu, Bali, Indonesia.

Here are two perfect reasons why DAFT PUNK; DANGERDISKO's ultimate idols, are Gods in our eyes.

This is a trailer of a full length feature film: Daft Punk's Electroma The plot revolves around the quest of two robots (the band members, played by Peter Hurteau and Michael Reich) to become human. The music featured in this film is surprisingly not by Daft Punk. This is a first for the duo considering their previous film and home video releases, D.A.F.T. and Interstella 5555. .

This is a video for the radio edit of Harder Better Faster Stronger to promote the Alive 2007 album. It's made up of footage from various sources; mostly from the Coachellla forums. It is way better than the original video. I fucking shed tears during 3.15-3.20. Only one word to describe it: EPIC.

Hello DANGERDISKOTEERS!

If blogging were a religion then I'm going straight into hell. I haven't been blogging for a while now. Never had the time to spare with all our latest residencies and shit. Swamped. Yes, I know. I suck. Plus, I have been diagnosed with kidney stones. Yes! Believe it or not! DJing can be a dangerous job.. Well, anyways, here are the latest updates on DANGERDISKO fellow DANGERDISKOTEERS!

The last ELECTRIC PLAYGROUND was a such a blast, it was the first time the NEON collective sat down collectively (aha!) and created beautiful nosebleeding music together. For those who may or may not know what in the world is NEON: NEON stands for NEO-Nightlife, a collective of DJs and producers from all over Kuala Lumpur that shares a strong drive and the same clear vision, NEON is a medium in which these artists can share their influences and present their productions. Phew! That was mouthful! The artists involved in the collective are currently DANGERDISKO, DJ Andy Lee and DJ Fizzy at the moment.

Cool ain't it?

This Thursday, put on your dancing shoes and wiggle your way to Heritage Mansion for ELECTRIC PLAYGROUND presents NEON NIGHTS. This time around, the NEON collective (comprising of DANGERDISKO, DJ Andy Lee and DJ Fizzy) will burn the house down with enough electro to make your ears bleed.

New Year's Eve 2009 was a BLAST! Hand's down the craziest party ever! We told you bitches we would rock the house down! DANGERDISKO tore the roof off of Frangipani and everyone had an awesome time. Luscious ladies and handsome hunks were dancing the night away, drowning in a sea of cocktails and champagne. DJ SITO (Spain) took over at 1.30am and got the party goin on all night long. Woohoo! Big up to everyone who rocked Frangipani up!

It's already December?

A thousand pardons dearest DANGERDISKOTEERS,

We've been swamped with shows this whole month of December that we've barely had the time to update our blogs and inform you earthlings on the current events and activities DANGERDISKO has been up to.

As you would have may or may not know, we are currently been called by Heritage Mansion Kuala Lumpur to spearhead it's SEVEN2ONE chillout sessions which is from Mondays to Thursdays from 7pm - 11pm (hence the name SEVEN2ONE, d'oh!). The term resident DJs also covers three other pristine nights such Wednesday's GORGEOUS (with DJ Domingo from Peru), Thursday's ENTRA MI CASA (with Eddie Electric and Mr. Q) and Friday's PLAYHOUSE (with Garry Tee). Phew!

And it's as if that is not a handful, the birth of DANGERDISKO's debut monthly series "ELECTRIC PLAYGROUND" will begin on January 15th 2009. It will be total chaos. Robots and thongs will be flying everywhere with dirty disco and electro pumping through the speakers. Definitely an event NOT for the faint hearted.

And for those whom are not to keen on going to the Heritage Mansion, we will still be spinning Frangipani's Mashup Nights on Wednesdays as usual. As hard hitting Heritage Mansion is, Frangipani will still remain close to our hearts. It's something in the water there that makes us bursting with robot love.

Speaking of Frangipani, we are headlining the NEW YEAR'S EVE 2009 COUNTDOWN with DANGERDISKO (Msia) and DJ SITO (Spain). We will be playing alongside DJ SITO, a remarkable and established DJ from Spain. Quite a night to look forward to. If you haven't gotten any plans for New Years, head on down to Frangipani this 31st December!

RUNWAY THUNDER presents FRESH TO THE FLESH

Hello fellow DANGERDISKOTEERS!

November has been a pretty massive month for us. Barack Obama won the presidency. (Yeay!) Nicolette Sheridan is going out with mediocre comedian David Spade (Giving butt ugly people all around the world hope!). Paris Hilton and Benji Madden breaking up (Finally!). It's a pretty awesome month. But we're here not to talk about that. Nooooo. We're here to give you the down low on DANGERDISKO's second instalment of the RUNWAY THUNDER series: RUNWAY THUNDER presents FRESH TO THE FLESH!

The night started out FREAKISHLY late: bearing in mind the fashion theme of the night was street wear, thus the designers and patrons were fashionably stuck in a jam in the streets of Kuala Lumpur. But all was well by 11pm as independent designers OSIXNINE, Krookz, Bone and Sexy Little Fire paraded Frangipani's makeshift runway and strutted their unbelievably colourful garments. By the time the thunder started, Frangipani was packed with gorgeous people. Models, celebs, you NAME IT!

I know you must be thinking to yourself, "Why did I miss such a fabulous party?". Well, it's cos you're lazy and fat. Get off that couch! But don't you worry, RUNWAY THUNDER is going to be a monthly event. So we'll catch up with you guys on the next one yea?

November Bloody November!

Hey DANGERDISKOTEERS,

Its been awhile since our last post. We have been oiling up and recharging our drained batteries after a month of rigorous screening and auditioning. After months of strenous music compiling and proposal submitting, things are starting to pay off. October was a month full of hits and misses. And now it's official, DANGERDISKO is now the permanent Wednesday nights resident DJs at Frangipani KL. We'll be doing our brand of mashup music there, every Wednesday. So for all you new wave-eighties-indie-rock-pop-electro fans out there, put on your Nike Hi Top Dunks and come on down to Frangipani this Wednesday!

Hoorah!

But hold on Kuala Lumpur, we're not stopping there.. NOO.. We're planning on to take on The Heritage Row with our brand of smash music. As lazy and unfit as we are, we managed to pull a few strings and got an audition. Last Saturday, DANGERDISKO burned the decks at The Heritage Mansion to an awesome audience with massive success! It was awesome for us to finally get the chance to spin our more harder and edgier set. The crowd there were abit rowdy, but they were a crazy bunch. In a good way. Girls dancing on podiums, utterly pissed drunk and accidentally exposed breasts... Well, you get the picture. Great crowd. Didn't want to leave. We are still compiling the photos of the night. we'll post them as soon as we get our robot mitts on them!

Will DANGERDISKO be residents at The Heritage Mansion? Will they get their own showcase series of nights? Is Brad Pitt cheating on Angelina Jolie? Stay tuned to this blog for more updates!

RUNWAY THUNDER presents NURITA HARITH/fashion.fizjedar was a BLAST! It was anything and everything you'd imagined it to be. Great fashion, great music, great cocktails and absolutely BEAUTIFUL people. Stud muffins, gorgeous mamas. You name it! Frangipani was THE place to be! There were loads of local celebrities , designers and models packing up the place and it was DANGERDISKO's best night yet! The crowd danced to our cocktail dish of electro house and indie rock. Fantastic crowd. Big up to the fabulous designers that made the night a complete success: Nurita Harith, Micky Tan, Alexandrea Yeo, Jimmy Lim, Justin Yap and PU3. Loves!

ELECTRIC PINK MASCARA was a blast! Big up to those who came and partied their asses off on a Wednesday! Much love!

The night started out pretty slow (another usual Wednesday) but by 12pm (why do Malaysians party so late?), Frangipani was packed with 80s enthusiasts dancing the night away to electro mashups of Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, David Bowie, The Cure and Tears For Fears. Mad props to the crazy assed DANGERDISKOTEERS who came in their favourite 80s getup!

DANGERDISKO Launch!

Hey DANGERDISKOTEERS,

The DANGERDISKO launch was awesome! About a hundred of you party animals decided to turn Frangipani into a full blown night club and man was it awesome! There were loadsa alcohol (I woke up flat on my face the next day) and cupcakes(what?) to go around and man, were there A LOT of birthday parties. And i mean A LOT!

At first the night started out really slow. We were worried at first cos we literally heard crickets creaking. Nervous pearls of sweat started to form on my forehead as I nervously check my wristwatch. 10pm. Still no one. And then BAM! The crowd started pouring in. The night kicked off with DJ Adza from the UK warming the decks for us. At about 11pm, RoboTron 5000 and Dr. RobotNik were already handling each others knobs (and I don't mean that in a gay way) and the party went on till around 2.30am. Mad crowd. As everyone was drunk and dancing the night away, we managed to slip a few unknown heavy hitters onto our playlist with tremendous support, such as Redial, Fantastadon, Cryptonites, Van She, Little Boots and tonnes more. But by the time we were playing Robot Needs Oil and David Guetta, the crowd went bonkers! Well I guess mainstream electro does have its charm. Big props to those who made the rainy trip and made the party the wildest party Frangipani has ever seen!

First Entry: Nervous Wreck!

Hey guys and gals of blog-ville,

As you would notice, this is the first post for the DANGERDISKO blog. It is 2am and it's way past my bedtime (NOT!) but I'm scrolling through some music for this Wednesday's set. And for those of you who doesn't know what's coming up this Wednesday; it's DANGERDISKO's first official launch!

Yeay!

I'm supposed to be excited, but I'm feeling nervous as hell. I'm ecstatic but yet scared. I've been preparing my set for the past few days and my ears are starting to bleed from all of the electro and new wave that I've listened to. We've prepared an assortment of electronica: from raunchy electro sex anthems to pure retro new wave remixes. Everything i tell ya. Among them headbangers are hits from ANORAAK, VALERIE, HOT PINK DELOREAN, JUSTICE, SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO, VHS or BETA, REVOLTE, DEADMAU5, KASKADE, DIRTY SOUTH, THE ASTON SHUFFLE, ROBOT NEEDS OIL, GRUM, SHAZAM, THE PRESETS, MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS, CROOKERS, LADYHAWKE... just to name a few. Phew! And believe me, that was just the icing of the cake.

As you may or may not be informed, we are scheduled to spin at Frangipani KL's Wednesday nights. For those who are not familiar with the spot, it is a french fine dining restaurant slash cocktail bar, brilliantly located at Jalan Changkat Bukit Bintang, just opposite of 21. The first night (8th of October 2008), will be our official launch. There's gonna be loads of brilliant alcohol to get drunk on and loads of space for you to dance the night away. Girls, dress up to your imagination and guys; put on some bloody deodorant ey? There's nothing worse than a smelly drunk listening to electro.
